Welcome to Hestóvin Stables Therapeutic Riding Center
Hestóvin Stables enhances the lives of children and adults who desire to explore the mental, emotional, social, and physical benefits of therapeutic horsemanship through safe, guided interactions with Icelandic horses. Each program focuses on forming a relationship with our equines while teaching riders proper horsemanship skills. At Hestóvin Stables, we define therapeutic horsemanship as innovative strategies to combine traditional horseback riding disciplines with therapy services to cater to the diverse needs of individuals.
We created our programs with the hope that riders and equines will form partnerships where they can experience emotional and social well-being. We foster an environment where we make it a priority to inspire, teach and learn from each other. We give excellent care to our horses and place high standards on safety for our participants, visitors, staff, and horses. Our goal is to develop a community that offers experiences through equine therapy that will positively impact the lives of children and adults.

Our Property & History
Our beautiful piece of land is a little over 7 acres and was purchased in June of 2021 to become a therapeutic horse farm currently known as Hestóvin Stables.
Prior to this, it was owned by Dave and Linda Mehney. Dave and Linda bought this property in 1982 and named it Grand Arabian Farms where Linda became a national and international breeder of Arabian horses.
Grand Arabian Farm horses were shown and exported all over the world. These horses attracted the attention of interesting people and even celebrities, such as Wayne Newton and Patrick Swayze.
It is in honor of Linda Mehney that we continue providing excellent equine services to our community, making this corner of the world a better place.
